This street stuff is cool to hear. I’m a lifelong New York Metro area denizen, so I’ve been around a lot of hoods and hood guys. It’s cool to hear the different languages, alliances, modus operandi, etc. from city to city.

Older black men from urban areas are classy and interesting in their own way. Even though they congregate amongst their own, they know they are different than whites and Hispanics, but do not have the prejudice that younger blacks with a score to settle have. I used to work with guys like that when I was younger. We used to rib each other and make fun of each others races. We knew we were different and it was just part of life. It was in good fun and never with animosity or hatred. I miss those guys. Even though I did not understand a lot of it, because I am not from Chicago and have little knowledge of its urban history, it was neat hearing you and Big D banter about it. Good stream.

This was great, raw on the street history, right from the sources, the men who were there. As a kid I always liked shows like Gangland, gangs in America are quite different from many other places. All the signs, colors, the histories behind them, I find it all quite fascinating.

This was great - l love your revisionist writing and online appearances, but your street and mob content is dynamite, whether in tweet form or just brief comments you drop in podcasts. Hope to hear more, at length. So much has been written, filmed, and recorded about street life and organized crime in NYC, but Chicago seems like it has many more unturned stones beyond the "Chiraq" headlines and the Capone folklore. Thomas, did you ever see this 1966 Special Report "Cicero" on Hezakya News?
